(hands) A hand in a red dragon-robe sleeve takes a navy sleeve's wrist and draws it into the inner corridor. / With the king's party gone from the outer court, Min Chi-gyeom walks in wearing the cap. Rebels (seen from behind) follow. — The king and his queen to the inner palace. Into the place the king had left, he stepped.
Min Chi-gyeom to the jailer guarding Doyun (seen from behind). Quiet — as if speaking of a thing. / (hands) A rebel's hands untie the cord at Doyun's wrists. Red marks. — Min Chi-gyeom: "Untie him. There is still a use for him."
Doyun rubs his wrists and takes a step back from his father. — The son took a step back.
Doyun looks straight at his father. Breaking — high, fast. — Doyun: "Were you not the one who made me the culprit?"
Min Chi-gyeom tips his chin at the soldier behind Doyun. Quiet — pretending to offer a choice. He does not smile. / (feet) Doyun's feet stop — on one side the dark corridor, on the other his father's shoes. — Min Chi-gyeom: "If the king wins, you die too. Choose." There were two roads.

Min Chi-gyeom, wearing the cap, stands before the two of them. Quiet — eyes that set a price. — Min Chi-gyeom: "I will free you. Show me your use."
Chaeryeong steps forward before her father does. Small and fast — an informer. No laughter. / (eye band) A crop of Min Chi-gyeom's face — brow to chin. Eyes that set a price. — Chaeryeong: "Are you looking for my sister? She is in the inner palace." There was no laughter. It was the face of paying a price. That one line became the price of that night.
Min Chi-gyeom to the henchman (seen from behind). Close on his face. Quiet — no smile, jaw set. — Min Chi-gyeom: "Do not kill her. Bring her before that father of hers." The cruellest order was the quietest.
(feet) The feet of the henchman and the soldiers leaving down the prison corridor. Torch shadows stretch long. — It was not only the king who headed for the inner palace that night.
Taesik's face — relief or fear, impossible to tell. No words. — Her father said nothing at all.
A corridor in the inner palace. Yeonhwa stops and looks back toward the doors behind her. The cliffhanger. — The sound of doors closing came from behind her. Yeonhwa does not yet know that her name has been spoken.
