Recap (black band). — Chaeryeong left by the servants' gate. Sol-i recovered enough to sit up. In her mother's ledger, a storehouse at the river landing was written down.

Days later, daytime. The workroom. Sol-i, sitting, tips a hemp bag and pours a handful of sand onto a board (the sand from Ep. 5). / (hands) Yeonhwa's hands laying her mother's old ledger open beside the sand. — Days later. Sol-i had recovered enough to help while sitting.
Yeonhwa to Yi Heon. Composed, low — pointing at the paper. / Muyeong rubs the sand between his fingers. A soldier — short and clear. — Yeonhwa: "Rice disappeared in my mother's time too. From this storehouse." Muyeong: "Last month took the same route. They move cargo again tonight."
(hands) Yeonhwa's fingertip stopping on her mother's entry. / (new) Yeonhwa's face. Unsteady — briefly; she swallows a breath. — Yeonhwa: "My mother was not mistaken." My mother knew. That was why she was shut in.
Yi Heon pushes the ledger to Muyeong without closing it. Muyeong picks it up. The king's voice — broad. / (new) Muyeong going out through the door. Daylight. — Yi Heon: "Find out whether they are still stealing." Muyeong went to the landing.
Yeonhwa, having watched him go, touches the embroidery left on the worktable. Composed with warmth — she speaks of the future before the crisis. / (hands) A spool rolls off the end of the worktable. Yi Heon reaches awkwardly and catches it before it hits the floor. — Yeonhwa: "When this is over I want to open a workshop in my mother's name." a knock
Yi Heon. An awkward smile — with a serious face. / Yeonhwa takes the spool out of his hand, presses it back into place and laughs. The only laugh in Ep. 19. — Yi Heon: "The first customer's place is mine." Yeonhwa: "Not even a king gets it free." It was the only laugh in Ep. 19.
HARD CUT. Min Chi-gyeom's house, night. A letter on the writing desk. The henchman (seen from behind) stands there. / (hands) Min Chi-gyeom's hands folding the letter. Neither his voice nor his hands change. — At the same hour. Min Chi-gyeom's house.
Close on Min Chi-gyeom. At his quietest, and he does not smile. He does not raise his head. — Min Chi-gyeom: "That storehouse keeper's mouth has loosened. Tonight, see that he cannot speak." It was the first episode in which he did not smile. What was frightening was not the smile but the absence of any reaction.
Behind the landing storehouse at night. Two henchmen (seen from behind) drag the storehouse keeper out by both arms. / (feet) On the mud beside the fallen body, two pairs of feet and their shadows. The blows are not drawn. — That night. Behind the storehouse at the landing. Even after he went down, it did not stop.
(hands) One of them crouches, lifts the face and lets it drop — checking. / They drag him by the ankle and dump him beside a stack of sacks, and both vanish into the dark. — They checked — as far as they knew. Dumped beside the sacks, and into the dark.
The same place. Muyeong and a garrison soldier (seen from behind) come in behind the storehouse. A soldier — short. / (hands) A sack is opened and sand pours out instead of grain. — Muyeong: "Open that sack first." a dry hiss
Muyeong sees the body face down on the ground beside the sacks. The face is ruined. A soldier — low, not knowing whether the man is alive. — Muyeong: "Are you alive? Can you speak?"
The storehouse keeper's head lifts slowly. Only one eye opens. On that face to the end. — Storehouse keeper: "…They were Lord Min's men." A living witness.
