(hands) The workroom the next morning. A tea tray — two identical white porcelain cups. The serving girl's hands set the tray down. / Sol-i picks up her own cup as usual. Yeonhwa has her hands on the embroidery, so her cup stays where it is. — The next morning, the workroom. Two cups. Identical white porcelain. Sol-i drank hers as she always did. Yeonhwa's cup was untouched.
After one mouthful Sol-i drops the cup and sways. Yeonhwa catches her arm. — a sharp chime
Yeonhwa. Urgent — fast and high. Her first raised voice in seventeen episodes. / Laying Sol-i on a cushion, she speaks to the serving girl. The urgency drops lower — but stays fast. — Yeonhwa: "Sol-i! Look at me, can you hear me?" It was Yeonhwa's first raised voice in seventeen episodes. Yeonhwa: "That tea — who brought it?"
The serving girl. She avoids her eyes. Small — a prepared sentence. / (new) Every eye goes to Sol-i. The whole room. — Serving girl: "I brought what I was told to bring." It was a prepared sentence. Every eye was on Sol-i.
(hands) The girl's hand puts the folded pouch into the open work box. The hand comes away empty. / Yeonhwa takes Sol-i's hand. Sol-i barely manages to look at her. No words. — My hands were shaking. Mine.
The head court lady comes in and stops all movement and tidying. Formal — not loud, but the room stops. / The inner-palace physician on duty arrives and examines Sol-i. He does not speak — he points people to their places. — Head court lady: "Clear nothing away. Everyone stays." The physician on duty. He pointed people to their places without a word.
The serving girl points at the open work box. Rehearsed surprise — small, but audible to everyone. / (hands) The pouch inside the box. Yeonhwa's hands do not move from her lap. — Serving girl: "That pouch… isn't that the one Her Ladyship uses?" It was rehearsed surprise. Yeonhwa did not touch the pouch.
Yeonhwa from the front. Cold anger — lower and slower than usual, one word at a time. It is not a question. — Yeonhwa: "I have never touched that."
The head court lady (seen from behind) secures the box and cuts off the girl's way out. / (hands) Sol-i's hand weakly holding Yeonhwa's sleeve. — The box stayed as it was. The girl's way out was closed. Sol-i: "My lady…"
(new) Yeonhwa wrapping that hand in both of hers. Her face is lowered out of sight. / An hour later. The guest annex. A closed door. — It was my cup. What Sol-i drank. An hour later. The guest annex. Having heard the first report, the Queen Dowager decides.
The Queen Dowager. After a long pause. An order — short and low, without feeling. — Queen Dowager: "Until this is settled, do not leave the annex."
Yeonhwa. Only one line. Composed — low and even. Not a plea but a request. / No answer from the Queen Dowager. She does not turn her face. — Yeonhwa: "Let me stay beside Sol-i." The Queen Dowager did not answer. That was the answer.
Yi Heon, low. He cannot save her at once. Not a king but a husband. He does not look away. / A guard leads Yeonhwa to the door (moving away). She passes Chaeryeong, standing at the doorway with a guard. Chaeryeong is not smiling. — Yi Heon: "I will settle it." It was not a king's line but a husband's short one. Chaeryeong at the doorway was not smiling. That was worse.
(new) Chaeryeong's face. No smile.
Yeonhwa's face as she walks. No fade. — To the annex. Sol-i over there, and I over here.
